We are a group of friends and every year we go on a trip.
Last year we went to Colombia.
Colombia South American country surrounded by Venezuela Brazil Peru and Ecuador and the fourth country of south America.
Colombia has a bad reputation for drug and mafia but it’s not the case now.
The capital is Bogota and in the center of the country.
The area is 1 141 748km² (one million one hundred forty-one thousand seven hundred and forty-eight km²).
The language is Spanish.
The number of inhabitants 46.7 millions(forty six million seven hundred thousand).
Religion is predominantly catholic.
The Colombian flag is 3 colors yellow blue and red.
The currency is the peso and one euro is equal to about 3300 pesos (three thousand three hundred pesos).
Colombia only knows two seasons. summer dry season (December to February and July to august) and winter (April May and October November).
but this country knows as well the eternal snows as the hottlest heat of the coasts.
it situation allows it to have a fascinating wildlife and varied(felines, deer, different kinds of monkeys. one of the largest variety of birds of the world).
The flora is also rich by microclimates, more than 4000 species of plants(second exporter of roses).
BOGOTA 2600m is a very extensive city. 4 times Paris. She is multicultural with modern and ancient constructions.
The center is historical and modern and rich at north.
Then we left for the small mountain villages ZIPAQUIRA – VILLA DE LEYVA -RAQUIRA – BARICHARA …
ZIPAQUIRA has a magnificent salt cathedral carved in salt mines.
VILLA DE LEYVA is one of the most beautiful examples of colonial architecture and now it’s a city where the bogotanos come for the weekend for its sweetness of life and climate and restaurants.
RAQUIRA is a city of crafts and very colorful.
BARICHARA and GUANE are colonial cities with cobbled streets and low houses.
EL ROBLE is a village where there is coffee culture.
Coffee culture is a very important business in Colombia (one million tons each year).
And to finish
CARTHAGENE is a city on the seaside of the Caribbean, with colorful houses and flowery streets, there is also the old town with its squares and ramparts, it’s the city where there is a mix of people because there is a port and there was the slave market.
